One of my favorite things about photographing maternity sessions is helping families find locations that feel different from the typical Arizona desert. While I absolutely love saguaros and mountain views, sometimes an expecting family wants something softer, greener, and a little unexpected.
This beautiful maternity session took place at Patch of Paradise AZ, a hidden gem tucked between Gilbert and Queen Creek. The property offers wide open grass, mature trees, charming white fences, friendly farm animals, and the dreamiest golden light just before sunset.
It feels peaceful, romantic, and almost like you’ve stepped onto a countryside farm without ever leaving the East Valley. You can see Patch of Paradise instagram here!
If you’re looking for maternity photos with a softer, more natural feel, Patch of Paradise AZ is one of my favorite locations to recommend.
Instead of rocky desert trails, you’ll find lush grass, beautiful trees, white fencing, and adorable ducks that love wandering through sessions. The animals naturally create genuine moments, especially for older siblings who enjoy interacting with them while we capture candid family photos.
The combination of open fields and warm evening light creates timeless images that feel relaxed and effortless.

One of my favorite parts of this session was watching their little boy explore the property while the ducks waddled nearby. Those unscripted moments often become some of the most meaningful photographs because they capture this season exactly as it is.
As the sun dropped lower, we focused on quiet maternity portraits that highlighted the excitement of welcoming their newest family member. The soft cream lace gown paired beautifully with the natural surroundings, creating an elegant look without feeling overly styled.
The mixture of playful family moments and intimate maternity portraits made this session feel authentic from beginning to end.

Choosing the perfect location is one of the most important parts of creating beautiful maternity photos. Whether you love lush greenery, desert landscapes, mountain views, or peaceful waterfront locations, I’ll help you choose a setting that fits your family’s style while creating timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.
Absolutely! Patch of Paradise is one of Gilbert’s most beautiful outdoor photography locations thanks to its mature trees, lush greenery, natural pathways, and soft evening light. It’s perfect for couples, growing families, and maternity sessions that feel natural and relaxed.
Most maternity sessions are photographed between 30 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. During this time, your baby bump is beautifully visible while you’re still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy your session.
Soft neutral colors like white, cream, beige, sage green, dusty blue, and earth tones photograph beautifully against the greenery. Flowing dresses and textured fabrics add movement and create timeless images that never go out of style.
Of course! Some of my favorite maternity sessions include the entire family. Including your partner and children helps tell the story of this exciting season and creates meaningful memories before your newest little one arrives.
Yes! I photograph maternity sessions throughout Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Gold Canyon, and the surrounding East Valley.

Golden hour is absolutely magical here.
The sunlight filters through the trees, creating beautiful backlighting and soft glowing highlights that photograph beautifully. Because the property has so many different areas to explore, we can easily move between shaded paths, open fields, white fences, and animal areas as the light changes throughout the session.
This variety gives your final gallery multiple looks without needing to travel between locations.

Flowy dresses and textured fabrics work especially well against the greenery and white fencing. I also offer access to my client closet, making it easy to find something that photographs beautifully without purchasing a new dress just for your session.
