Tango was definitely one of the stars of this session.

Adding an animal to a family photography session can completely change the experience. Instead of simply photographing a family standing together, there is suddenly another personality in the frame.

And Tango gave us plenty to work with.

The children were able to interact with him, sit on him, cuddle beside him and simply enjoy being around him while I photographed the moments happening naturally.

The horse also gave the children something to focus on besides the camera.

That can be especially helpful for kids who don’t particularly love having their picture taken.

Instead of saying, “Look at the camera,” over and over again, we can give them something interesting to do.
